How long does a power flush take?
A typical three-bedroom house with eight to ten radiators takes most of a working day. Larger properties, or heavily sludged systems, can run into a second visit — we tell you before we start if that is likely.
Will a power flush fix my cold radiators for good?
It fixes cold spots caused by sludge, which is the overwhelming majority. If a radiator stays cold afterwards, the cause is balancing, an airlock or a failed valve — and we sort that as part of the job.
Do I need a power flush before a new boiler?
On an existing system, yes. Ideal, Baxi, Worcester and Vaillant all require a cleaned and inhibited system with a filter fitted. Without it, a future warranty claim will very likely be rejected.
Could flushing cause a leak?
On very old systems, flushing can occasionally expose a joint or radiator seam that was already corroded. We survey first, work at low pressure, and flag any high-risk components honestly before starting.
Is a magnetic filter included?
We fit one as standard where the system does not already have one, and clean any existing filter as part of the job. A flush without a filter simply starts the clock again.
How often should a system be flushed?
With a filter fitted and inhibitor maintained at every annual service, a system should not need flushing again for many years. Neglected systems typically need attention roughly every five to eight years.
Do you flush underfloor heating?
Yes — underfloor circuits are cleaned through the manifold, loop by loop, with the flow rates rebalanced afterwards. It is a different method to radiator flushing but the same principle.
What does it cost?
It depends on radiator count, system type and condition, so we survey first and give you a fixed price in writing. No hourly rate, and no extras added at the end.
