We size pipework to the actual flow rate, in 22mm or 28mm where needed. ### Radiator outputs guessed Bedroom rads sized off 'looks about right' instead of room heat-loss. Cold bedrooms in January are a sizing problem, not a boiler problem. ### No zoning One thermostat in the hallway controlling the whole house wastes meaningful energy. Modern installs are zoned by floor or by room as a default. ### No balancing Lock-shield valves left fully open, so the nearest rad takes all the flow and the furthest stays cold.
