Pressure dropping, won't hold
Almost always a failed expansion vessel or a slow leak on a rad valve or towel rail. Topping it up weekly just corrodes the system from the inside.
Error code F1 / F22 / E119
Low-pressure lockout codes across Vaillant, Worcester and Ideal. The code tells you the symptom; we find the cause — internal weep, vessel collapse, or external leak.
Locks out on ignition (F28, EA, L2)
Spark electrode, ignition lead, gas valve, flame sense — or a partially blocked condensate trap. Diagnosed properly with a manometer and combustion analyser.
Hot taps lukewarm only
Classic stuck diverter valve. Common on Worcester Greenstars and Ideal Logics — cartridge swap rather than a full valve in most cases.
Kettling, banging, gurgling
Limescale on the heat exchanger or magnetite sludge in the system. A chemical or power flush plus a system filter typically resolves it without replacing the boiler.
PRV dripping outside the wall
Sign of internal over-pressure — usually the expansion vessel has lost its charge. Re-charge first; if it fails again, replace the vessel.
Condensate frozen in a cold snap
Externally routed condensate pipework freezes overnight in January and locks the boiler out. We thaw, re-route internally where possible, and lag what we can't.

How much is a boiler repair?
Diagnostic is £60+VAT for the first hour and £50+VAT per hour after. The repair itself is then quoted as a fixed written price before any parts are ordered — most common repairs (pump, PRV, expansion vessel, diverter cartridge, fan) are completed on the first visit.
How quickly can you attend?
Mon–Fri 8am–5pm across Scunthorpe, Brigg, Messingham, Scotter and Barton-upon-Humber. Hull, Grimsby and Doncaster covered in the same working week — call as early in the day as possible.
